ON THE
KITESURF
Recognised as
one of the world’s
leading kitesurfing
destinations, Bel
Ombre is an ideal
spot for kitesurfers
of all ages and
levels. Its waves’
conditions, calm
lagoon and trade
winds contribute to
making it an overall
pleasant experience
for beginners
and advanced
enthusiasts. In
Mauritius, peak
season takes place
between June
and September
as it offers the
best winds. The
Kite Globing at
C Beach Club offers
kitesurfing lessons
with qualified
instructors and rent
quality equipment.
GOLF
CNN listed it as one of Africa’s top
10 golf courses. Golfscape ranked it
as one of the world’s most beautiful
golf courses. Indeed, Bel Ombre’s
magnificent 18-hole championship
golf course, Heritage Golf Club,
designed by Peter Matkovich, is
certainly a breathtaking and challenging
experience. Offering views of the sea
on one side and the hills on the other,
all levels of golfers can indulge in great
views while playing a game of gold that
suits their level of competence. What’s
more, the region’s second golf course
will soon be underway. Co-designed by
South African champion golfer, Louis
Oosthuizen, and Peter Matkovich, this
second 18-hole championship course
promises to be equally as amazing as
the first one and is set for completion in
November 2020.

TRAIL RUNNING
In April 2006, Mauritius
hosted its very first trail run,
the Royal Raid. Its success
set the stage for a string
of other trailing events to
establish themselves, such as
the Heritage Trail. These two
trails are now annual staples
that take participants on a
journey to discover Bel Ombre
and the trails of southwest
Mauritius, delivering stunning
views along the way. With halfmarathons, marathons and
ultramarathons, the varying
lengths of the trails open
themselves to a wide range
of participants.
SURFSKI
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Bel Ombre combines a

diversity of landscapes that
are perfect for a stimulating
mountain biking experience.
